Coudersport pulled off a high school softball rarity Monday afternoon -- winning a game without having a single hit.
Melissa Gerner boarded on a third-inning walk, moved to second on catcher's interference, and raced home on batted ball by sophomore Kayla Bohn that the official scorekeeper ruled an error.
That was the game's only run, as another sophomore, Karli Duffee, silenced the Northern Potter bats with a three-hitter.
Casey Martin was the hardluck losing pitcher, as she completed the no-hitter with 11 strikeouts.
"I told our girls that if we played sharp defense, we could win it, and that's just what we did," said Coudersport coach Scott Andrews.
His team's strong defense continued on Wednesday with an 8-0 win over visiting Otto-Eldred, behind freshman pitcher Megan Hau's two-hitter and three hits by Bohn.
Coudersport carries a 10-3 record into Friday's game at Oswayo Valley and is gearing up for an appearance in the PIAA District 9 playoffs during the week of May 21.
