Work is continuing on the construction of expanded wastewater treatment facilities in Emporium Borough. The upgrades are being made to satisfy a Department of Environmental Protection Consent Order and Agreement put in place because pollutants in the plant's discharge water were above the allowable concentration. The new facility will enable Mid-Cameron Authority to properly treat a larger volume both solids and liquids, which will result in a cleaner discharge.
