Betty Hollingsworth Betty Hollingsworth, 82, died June 14, 2007, after a short illness. Born in Olean, N.Y., on July 31, 1924, daughter of Floyd and Gertrude Brown. She was a 1942 graduate of Emporium High School and earned a psychology degree from the University of Akron. She went on to earn a masters degree from Kent State University in 1967. She worked as an information librarian in Akron for 20 years. Mrs. Hollingsworth and her husband, Harry H., wrote articles for travel magazines and produced multimedia travelogues. She was active in the United World Federalists (now Citizens for Global Solutions). She served several years as a Club Scout den mother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years; three sons, H. Howard, of Akron; Robert (Susan), of Edwardsville, Ill., and Thomas, of Akron; three granddaughters; three brothers, Robert, of Emporium, Floyd L., of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and David of Rochester, N.Y. A memorial service was held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Akron. Private interment was at Uniontown Greenlawn Cemetery. |
