Legion baseball team now 3-3 Emporium has overcome schedule conflicts to open the American Legion Baseball season with a 3-3 record heading into Friday night's doubleheader with Bradford. Sports camps. work obligations and other activities have prevented Emporium from operating at full strength. St. Marys (8-4) defeated visiting Emporium, 13-3, on Monday. Nick Brennan pitched a complete game for the winners. He was backed by Lou Pisani, who homered, doubled and knocked in five runs. Cameron Clingan took the loss. Jordan Crane and David Lyon each had three hits for Emporium. Last Friday, Clingan struck out 15 batters and Kyle McManigle drove in the winning run in Emporium's 4- 3 victory over visiting Smethport. With the score tied 3-3 in the last of the seventh, Corey Reed boarded on a walk, moved up on Ed Lingenfelter's sacrifice and came in on McManigle's liner off the left field fence. Lyon's three-run homer earlier in the game produced Emporium's other runs. |
