10 bands signed on for battle

Anticipation is building for this year's "Battle of the Bands," which is set for Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Cameron County Fairgrounds. At least 10 bands have already registered. Proceeds will benefit the Cameron County Skate Park Fund.

Bands of all ages and genres of music are welcome. There is no entry fee. Gate admission is $5. Competition kicks off at 3:00 p.m. First place band will win $300. Second prize is $100. Additional information is available from Teresa Gennocro at 486-0141 or gennoc4@windstream.net.
