 | | There's no guarantee of seeing live animals at Pennsylvania's most popular elkviewing area, on Winslow Hill near the village of Benezette in Elk County, but this specimen isn't going anywhere. The massive mounted bull is a popular attraction for those who visit the center, hoping to catch a glimpse of the wild elk who frequently wander within view while browsing on public land. The best times to see the live elk are after dawn and at dusk. To reach the center, turn north off Rt. 555 in Benezette and travel 3.6 miles on Winslow Hill Road. Howard McDonald photo |
