'Music and Stars' will return Plans are in place for the second "Music and Stars" concert and astronomy program at Cherry Springs State Park. The date is Saturday, Sept. 22. This special entertainment combination debuted in June with cool weather and clear, starry skies. Local acoustic musicians Jakobs Hollow warmed the crowd of about 70 with folk tunes at the amphitheater in Pennsylvania's official darksky preserve. Later, the crowd headed out to the Astronomy Observation Field for a guided tour of the night sky. Astronomical features visible that night included the quarter waxing moon, Venus and Jupiter, numerous summer constellations and hundreds of stars. The event was sponsored by the Pa. Bureau of State Parks, Potter County Arts Council and Cherry Springs State Park Dark Sky Fund. |
