Teenaged baseball players from across the state are in Emporium for the annual Pa. State Senior Little League Championship Tournament. The top eight teams that have emerged from district playoffs are fighting it out for the state title.

The public is welcome to watch this spirited youth baseball competition at the Little League Complex on Sizerville Road. The tournament continues through Monday.

Brackets including the tournament outcome and game times are posted for the public at the field and the concession stand is open.

Players, coaches, volunteers and others affiliated with the state tournament will relax on Saturday night during a free concert at the Little League field, featuring the band, 3rd and Long. Fans are also welcome. Music will start shortly after Saturday's final game, somewhere around 9:30.

Teams vying for the state championship include: DuBois, Levittown, Highland Park, Snyder County, Ed Lark/Fort Swoyer, Big Pocono, Worthington and Caln AA.
