Thieves hit area deer farm State police at Emporium continue to investigate a theft from the Jones Deer Farm at Sizer Run. Sometime between May 1 and July 14, someone made off with numerous construction tools, a TV/VCR, a tent, about 35 turkey calls, approximately 20 grunt calls, some CDs and about $2,100 in cash. Roy L. Doty, 64, of Holy Hill, Fla., suffered serious injuries when he wrecked his motorcycle about five miles north of Ulysses at about 11:00 .m. July 19. Denton Hill-based state police said Doty was taken by helicopter to Geisinger Medical Center. A $1,000 reward is being offered to the apprehension of the vandal who shot and injured several Holstein cows at LP Summit View Farms, Dingman Run Road, north of Coudersport, between July 9 and July 23. Faith L. Cornelius of Roulette is being charged with two counts of issuing bad checks totaling $845 to Howards Inc. of Coudersport for the purchase of snowmobiling apparel. Truck driver Tracy A. Vincent is accused of causing property damage July 21 at a rest area located at the bottom of Denton Hill in Potter County. Police allege Vincent drove into the rest stop, where the trailer picked up several large rocks and dragged them through sod and pavement. The truck also damage a pole. Harold J. Taylor, 41, and Randy L. Loveless, 44, both of Coudersport, will be charged with harassment because of separate phone calls allegedly placed to a Roulette man. Police at Denton Hill are investigating the theft of $340 in cash along with several other items July 19 or July 20 from the residence of Nancy C. Ryan of Roulette. State police are also probing the burglary of a seasonal residence owned by George Rodney Savich of Newmanstown, located on Pineo Hill Road in Potter County. Someone stole an extension ladder, portable spotlight, carpenter's speed square, circular saw, and binoculars, with a total value of abut $400. Four male juveniles are being charged with vandalism for allegedly damaging the radiator of a log truck owned by Walter D. Miles, Port Allegany, shortly before noon on Monday. State police at Denton Hill also report that they have collected several items that were taken during camp breakins between December 2005 and June 2006 in Austin Borough and the townships of Eulalia, Homer, Keating, Sylvania, Portage, and Wharton. |
