News from the Pennsylvania State Police Teens apprehended Four Potter County male juveniles are being charged with burglary for an incident occurring Monday night at Kosa's Kountry Market in Ulysses. State police say two 15-yearolds from Ulysses, a 16-yearold from Ulysses and a 14- year-old from Wellsville, N.Y., stole an unknown quantity of cigarettes from the store after it had closed for the day. Two of the suspects stood guard outside while their two companions went inside and stole the merchandise. Vandalism probed Vandalism taking place over the past several months on Robyn Lane in Sweden Valley is being investigated by state police from Denton Hill. Someone slashed tires, scratched the paint and dumped a substance into the engine of a vehicle owned by Scott Bundy. Drug device found Pastor Rock Pifer from the Cameron County Christian Center reported to state police in Emporium that his staff found suspected drug paraphernalia in the hall of his church building. The investigation continues. DUI arrest Michele Crawford, 27, will be charged with DUI after a traffic stop on Bailey Hill Road revealed that she was intoxicated. Chemical testing at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital confirmed that her blood alcohol level exceeded the legal limit. Genesee burglaries Two burglaries that occurred last weekend at the Genesee residence of Derek Wright and Emily Martin are being investigated by Coudersport State Police. Some of the victims' property was rummaged through, but nothing was apparently stolen. Injured in crash A Jacksonville, Fla., man received moderate injuries when his motor home wrecked Monday morning on Tauscher Hill Road in Allegany Township. State police said the brakes on Francis Griswold's 1972 Winnebago failed while headed north, causing it to travel about 110 feet through a dirt pull-off area, go down an embankment and strike a tree. Griswold was taken to Charles Cole Hospital by Coudersport Volunteer Ambulance. Home burglary A burglary at the home of Renee Hepburn on Route 120 in the Cameron County village of Truman is being probed by state police at Emporium. Thieves removed several items from the home between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. Saturday. Motorycle mishap State police at Denton Hill investigated a motorcycle crash taking place last Wednesday evening on Route 49, about one-half mile west of the Northern Potter High School in Bingham Township. Authorities say 28-year-old Sean Downey lost control of the cycle in loose gravel on a turn. Downey was ejected when the machine hit an embankment. He was taken to Charles Cole Hospital by a family member and faces a variety of summary traffic violations. Burglar strikes A burglary at a Sylvania Township, Potter County, home over the past couple of weeks is being investigated by state police at Denton Hill. Thieves entered David Dynda's home on Windy Boulevard and removed valuable coins. They also took two blank checks and forged Dynda's signature, cashing them at the Mountain Laurel Federal Credit Union in St. Marys for a total of $340. Hit and run A 2007 pickup truck owned by Phil Burkhouse of Emporium was slightly damaged after a hit-and-run that occurred in the parking lot of the Women's Center at the Charles Cole Memorial Hospital. Damage includes a dent in the side quarter panel, a torn bumper and a scratched tail light. |
