Storm football underway

Cameron County's youth football program is underway for 2007.

The Storm JV team improved to 2-0 on Wednesday with a 39-0 shellacking of the St. Marys Red.

On Saturday, the JV squad took care of the Treasure Lake Titans, 32-6, in the season opener at Kane. Nate Sestina ran for two touchdowns, returned a punt 54 yards for a TD and threw a touchdown pass to Brandon Saline.

Saline also ran for a touchdown and led the Storm in tackles. Vinnie Olivett recovered a fumble.

The Varsity Storm lost its season opener, 18-13, to Treasure Lake last Saturday.

Cameron County travels to St. Marys this Saturday. JV meets St. Marys Gold at 5 p.m.; varsity follows against St. Marys at 7.

Both Storm teams play at home on Saturday, Sept. 1. Varsity plays DuBois at noon, followed by JV vs. DuBois at about 2.
