Police mum on shooting of big buck

State police and officers from the Pa. Game Commission have not released details on the poaching of a large antlered deer near Sizerville Road, north of Emporium,last Saturday night.

"The investigation is continuing and there is no information to release at this time," said a spokesman. at the state police barracks in Emporium on Thursday.

Police refused to comment on widely circulated rumors that an Emporium man was apprehended at the scene and will likely face criminal charges following the completion of the investigation.

They also neither confirmed nor denied reports that the same individual was suspected in other recent poaching episodes.
