Emporium's Dave Smith is off to Orlando, Fla., this weekend to continue building his reputation as a nationally known pizza producer. Smith, holding the awards his Pizza Palace Plus business recently earned for "Best Chili in Cameron County" and "Best Wings in Cameron County," will compete again in Atlantic City, N. J., next week.
There's no denying the Web's potential as a marketing tool, says Dave Smith, who recently entered the digital age of advertising by creating a website for his Pizza Palace Plus eateries in Emporium and Port Allegany.

In a world where people can log on and shop for clothing, electronics, books and just about everything else, it only follows that local pizzerias would follow.

Smith's website, PizzaPalacePlus.com, allows people to view menu selections, sign up for free coupons and promotions, and find exclusive information from behind a computer screen.

"Most people now have a computer and check their mail at least daily," Smith said. "The Internet is here to stay. I like the advertising potential and I think it makes things more convenient for our customers."

He's not stopping with an advertising site and coupons.

"We're looking into adding online ordering to the website, but that would be down the road," Smith said.

Customers can also learn about special deals by signing up for a free newsletter sent by email.

The Pizza Palace Plus restaurants in Emporium and Port Allegany both honor the website's coupons.
