      A Clinton County man who has long battled the Pa. Game Commission over the impact of elk on his apple trees finds himself facing charges for shooting a female elk last month. Arthur Gavlock allegedly shot the cow on Aug. 24 after he observed it eating apples on his land.

Seventh Elk Expo planned next weekend
      The seventh annual Pennsylvania Elk Expo, to be held on the fairgrounds in Kersey, is just a week away (Sept. 14-15). A portable Elk Education Center will be open for public tours on both days. The center displays some of the bulls harvested by hunters during recent elk hunts.
