The seventh annual Pennsylvania Elk Expo, to be held on the fairgrounds in Kersey, is just a week away (Sept. 14-15).
A portable Elk Education Center will be open for public tours on both days. The center displays some of the bulls harvested by hunters during recent elk hunts. A display of trophy whitetailed deer mounts and a chainsaw carving demonstration will be operating both days.
Outdoor adventurer, writer and photographer Freddie McKnight will present a seminar on coyote-hunting at 6 p.m. Friday.
Saturday's special events begin with a 3D archery shoot from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A seminar, Archery Deer Hunting, by Dick Anderson from Quaker Boy Calls, will be held at 11 a.m. At noon, the Elk Expo will feature a performance by Tim Bradley, a world-class exhibition shooter from Arkansas.
Bluegrass music will be performed from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Dick Anderson returns at 2 p.m. with a fall turkey hunting seminar.
With digital cameras now commonplace, Freddie McKnight will return on Saturday at 3 p.m. to provide wildlife photography pointers.
Game Commission will hold its elk license drawing Saturday.
