Fishing on Labor Day Weekend in Rose Lake

Two bass fishermen tried their luck over the Labor Day weekend on the placid waters of Rose Lake, one of the region's few natural lakes. It is located in northern Potter County, between Genesee and Oswayo. The abundant lily blossoms that cover much of the lake's surface long ago spawned a legend of an Indian maiden named White Lily who escaped her captors and plunged into the waters of Rose Lake, never to be seen again.
