Potter County planner resigns

The long-rumored resignation Potter County Planning Director Amy Jo Baldoni- McClain recently became official.

Baldoni-McClain, who has been on leave since June, has accepted a job outside of the area and formally resigned in a letter to the Potter County Board of Commissioners.

Charlotte Dietrich, an administrative employee of the county's Planning Office, is serving as interim director.

The planning director is responsible for leadership and hands-on implementation of subdivision and land development regulations, as well as the county's involvement with state and federal highway funding and planning activities, and other activities.

Several far-reaching projects are on the agenda of the Potter County Planning Commission, ranging from revisions of the county's comprehensive plan to studies of countywide zoning and wind energy ordinances.

It is up to the county commissioners, Ken Wingo, John Torok and Cathy Bowers, to hire a successor for Baldoni- McClain or to allow Dietrich to continue serving as interim director until a new board of commissioners is seated in January.
