EVFD open house Oct. 9

Emporium Volunteer Fire Dept. invites the public to join the volunteers in observing National Fire Prevention Week (Oct. 7-13), highlighted by an open house at the firehall from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9.

A schedule will be released in the near future. Among the activities will be fire extinguisher demonstrations, blood pressure screening, demonstrations of rappelling, firetruck rides and a live burn demonstration.

There will be free hot dogs, sloppy joes, barbecued ham and soft drinks.
