      This year's girls' golf team at Cameron County High School is making sure their coach, Pat Lewis, goes out a winner. Lewis recently announced that this is his final season at the helm. His Raiders have not lost a Penn-York League match since 2004.

      Coudersport has emerged atop the Northern Tier Volleyball League standings, coming off a thrilling win over a strong Oswayo Valley Thursday night. It was a war of attrition, with the Falcons (4-0) coming back from the brink of defeat to win game four and send the match into a fifth-game decider.

      Coudersport battled Johnsonburg to a 1-1 tie on the Falcons' home field. Dillon Wadsworth scored the lone goal for the hosts. Coach Brian Empson's squad continues to play solid defense but is having trouble penetrating their opponents' net.

Austin golfers win
      Zach Jeffers continued his steady golfing to help the Austin Panthers notch their first win of the season, 30-25, over Otto-Eldred Monday afternoon on the Smethport course. Jeffers and the Terrors' Wayne Taylor tied for top score with a round of 49.
