Raider girls' streak alive! This year's girls' golf team at Cameron County High School is making sure their coach, Pat Lewis, goes out a winner. Lewis recently announced that this is his final season at the helm. His Raiders have not lost a Penn-York League match since 2004. On Thursday, Cameron County (6-0) pulled out a dramatic 28-27 win at Coudersport, the Raiders' second one-point win of the season. "This was a close one and a true team effort," Lewis said. "All six girls were below 60, which was a very impressive accomplishment." Senior Jordan Thompson shot a round of 43 to lead Cameron County, edging Coudersport standout Lindsey Francis (45) for medalist honors. Other Red Raider scores were Brittany Lundberg (54), Bre Dunsmore (55), Whitney Lewis (56) and Bethany Dunsmore (56). Hannah Fink fired a 49 and Tori Brown a 52 for the Falcons. Port Allegany also competed against Coudersport in Thursday's match, with the hosts winning, 36-19. streak alive! On Monday, Cameron County swept the top five places in a 40-15 win over visiting Bradford. Thompson led the charge with a 49 to earn 10 points. Lewis, Lundberg and Bre Dunsmore all tied for second with a 56, a career best for Dunsmore. Bethany Dunsmore rounded out the Raider scorers with a 60. Coach Lewis has also stepped down as girls' basketball coach at Cameron County. He has been hired as women's head basketball coach at Penn State University at DuBois. |
