Game lands tours set

The Pa. Game Commission is emphasizing its habitat improvement work during state game land tours scheduled for Elk County.

These lands are managed for the protection, propagation and management of game and wildlife, and to provide areas for public hunting and trapping.

On Sunday, a tour will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on State Game Land 44. The tour will start on Game Commission Road, about a half-mile south of Route 949 at the Toby Creek Bridge.

On Oct. 21, from 2 p.m. until 5:30 p.m., there will be a tour of State Game Land 34, which contains 9,470 acres. Participants should meet at the intersection of the Quehanna Highway and Jack Dent Road, about five miles south of Medix Run.
