Bobcat licenses issued About one in six applicants for a bobcat hunting and trapping license received one during last week's drawing. The Game Commission awarded 1,010 licenses from among more than 6,000 applications. Of the 1,010 permits awarded, 44 were awarded to females and 65 to applicants under the age of 17. Those randomly selected will receive a license to seither hunt or trap one bobcat. The hunting season will run from Oct. 20-Feb. 16. Trapping season runs Oct. 21-Feb. 17. Top counties for those receiving bobcat permits were Lancaster (57), Berks (55), Clearfield (43), Tioga (40) and York (38). Hunting and trapping bobcats is permitted throughout northcentral Pennsylvania and in several other parts of the state. |
