DMP opens in Emporium

Emporium area's newest employer, Design Metal Plating Inc., opened its plant this week in the former Stoltz Motors service center on Sizerville Road.

During an appearance before the Emporum Rotary Club,

DMP sales manager/ ustomeservice repr Val erie Shelley said she is committed to growing the DMP customer base which, in turn, should increase jobs at the new Emporium plant.

Fifteen jobs are now being filled. Additional jobs are expected to be created in the coming months. One shift is currently operating, but that could expand to three shifts over the next couple of years, Shelley said.

She also annonced that DMP plans to expand the building onto an adjoining lot sometime next year.

DMP has invested heavily in new equipment and is targeting customers in the powdered metal, hardware, fastener, metal shaping and military fields. The firm offers services that will complement the powdered metal industries now operating in Cameron County.

But DMP's client list will extend far beyond the local area.

Other company executives are Dale Gess; CEO/President/ Owner; Earl Cherry, general manager, and Mike Weaver, business manager and human resources.
