Wettrick walk, run Oct. 28 Race coordinator Michelle Burdick says this event focuses attention on two areas - the sometime quiet battle being waged against breast cancer by area women, and the importance of selfexamination, clinical breast aid in the early detection of the disease. Women who are breast cancer survivors or friends and family of breast cancer victims are specially invited to participate. The event begins with a free "fun run" for children ages 1- 10 beginning at 1:30 p.m. Walkers step off at 1:45 p.m. and runners at 2 p.m. There are categories for male and female walkers and runners awards to the first three finishers in each category. A pre-registration discount is available for entries postmarked by Oct. 22. Cost is $12 before Oct. 22 and $15 after. T-shirts are provided to the first 100 persons age 11 and olde) who register.
