Farmers could recruit hunters Farmers in Pennsylvania would be able to use assistance from up to two licensed hunters to shoot wildlife for crop damage, under a state law that passed the legislature in July. The Game Commission is developing a "depradation permit" process. Although farmers will be limited to designated two hunters, the number could rise if a wildlife conservation officer recommends additional permits for localized crop damage. Farmers would be required to select the hunters, location and species to be hunted, while verifying the extent of damage being inflicted by the targeted wildlife. |
