Voter registration deadline is Tuesday in Cameron and Potter counties.

Anyone who's not on the voter rolls by then will be ineligible to cast ballots in the Nov. 6 general election.

Both counties have interesting battles brewing for seats on the board of county commissioners. Several other prominent countywide and local offices will also be filled.

In Potter County, three seats on the board of commissioners will be filled for the 2008-2011 term from among nominees Doug Morley and Paul Heimel, Republicans, and Susan Kefover and Cathy Bowers, Democrats.

Cameron County will fill three seats from a field that includes Republicans JoAnn Smith and Glen Fiebig, Democrats Phil Jones and Tom Callahan, and independent candidate Michael Songer.

Bowers and Fiebig are the lone incumbents.

Tuesday is also the deadline to change party affiliation or report change of address.

Voters who will be unable to visit the polls on Nov. 6 have until Oct. 30 to request an absentee ballot.
