State forest gated roads to open

Susquehannock State Forest District will open several gated roads to offer hunters greater access to areas with higher deer concentrations.

This year, 65.5 miles are opened to travel for licensed vehicles during the early muzzleloader season (Oct. 13- 20).

A total of 8.3 miles of roads will be opened for the first week of regular rifle season (Nov. 26 to Dec. 1) and 65.5 miles for the second week of regular rifle season (Dec. 3-8).

Maps showing the roads are posted at the district office and several businesses throughout Potter County. Signs will also be posted on the gates, designating those roads as open to the public.
