'Look Good, Feel Better' Wednesday

American Cancer Society is offering women with cancer a chance to "Look Good, Feel Better" on Wednesday, 3 p.m., at the Patterson Cancer Care Center Conference Room in Coudersport.

The national public service program was created from the concept that if a woman with cancer can be helped to look good, her improved selfesteem will help her to approach her disease and treatment with greater confidence. To register, call 1- 888-227-5445, Option 3.

Look Good, Feel Better teaches women with cancer how to deal with treatment side effects, such as hair loss and changes in complexion and fingernails.

Information is relayed in a group setting and provides women with cancer information and support. Attendees will learn from licensed volunteer cosmetologists how to enhance their appearance using makeup techniques, using complimentary cosmetics and skin care products.

They will also learn how to disguise hair-loss using wigs, turbans, scarves, and various accessories. Sessions and materials are provided at no charge.
