Community day care set to open

Ben and Dylan Williams enjoy playing at a recent open house at St. Mark Day Care.
St. Mark Community Day Care Center has added three staffers as the center's opening draws closer.

Director Katie Coppock said the opening is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 6.

Joining the staff as group supervisors are Rebecca Haas Peters, Ashley Stuart and Debra Fisher.

Coppock has also announced reductions in the child care costs. The center now has a "try us out" price of $100/week for full-time care.

"This is an opportunity for people to try the center and see how they like it," Coppock said. "With a kid-friendly facility, caring and educated staff, an age-appropriate curriculum designed around each child, it will be hard to disappoint."

Hourly rate has been lowered to $2.50 and the center has agreed to accept drop-in care, Coppock added.

Financial assistance for child care is available. Northern Tier Community Action Corp. has more information on financial aid at 486-1974.

The center will be open for children ages six weeks and up from 5:45 am. to 6:15 p.m. Additional information about the center is available at 486-2399.

Coppock emphasized that while the center shares its name with St. Mark Catholic Church, no specific teachings of Roman Catholicism will be taught.
