DUI charges
A downstate driver faces DUI charges after being stopped by state police Saturday night on East Fork Road in Wharton Township.
Jimmy D. Golden, 49, of Dallastown was stopped for an equipment violation. A test of his blood alcohol content led police to file charges.
Also facing DUI charges is 35-year-old Chanda M. Goodling of Galeton. She was stopped on Rt. 6 near Ansley Road, Pike Township.
Camp burglarized
David K. and Janet M. Houk, of Lancaster, S. C., were victimized over the last three months as unknown individuals broke into their seasonal residence in Genesee Township and stole several items.
Copper tubing, fittings and other items with a total value of $590 were removed.
Cattle shot
Another incident of cattle being shot with a firearm is under investigation by state police from Denton Hill.
Someone shot two cows at a farm owned by Walter Rix, 40, near the Potter County Fairgrounds in Millport. Similar shootings occurred over the summer at LP Summit View Farms, Dingman Run Road.
Two-vehicle crash
A two-vehicle collision last Tuesday left both vehicles inoperable and put one of the drivers, 24-year-old Cory R. Hurd of Coudersport, in the hospital.
Police said Hurd was traveling north on Route 144 when he failed to yield the right of way to William L. Reynolds, 68, also of Coudersport. Reynolds, who was wearing his seat belt was uninjured. Hurd will face summary traffic violations.
Teen slightly hurt
A 17-year-old Coudersport boy escaped serious injury in a car crash Sunday afternoon.
While traveling west on Mitchell Hollow Road, the teen lost control of the vehicle while making a right-hand turn. After striking an embankment, the vehicle overturned several times before coming to rest upright on the roadway.
Police said the teen, whose name was not released, was wearing his seat belt. He will face several traffic violations.
Tires slashed
Someone slashed the tires on a pickup truck parked in Emporium on Oct. 9.
Will Smith, of Emporium, reported to police that the incident occurred while his truck was parked on Huckleberry Circle in Shippen Township.
Wreck in Austin
Neither driver was injured in a two-vehicle collision in Austin on Saturday.
Police said a 17-year-old female whose name was not released drove a car into the back end of a car being driven by Judith M. Dynda, 51, also of Austin.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts. The mishap occurred at the intersection of North Ruth Street and Goodyear Terrace.
Copper stolen
A seasonal residence in Genesee owned by Gerald C. Hart, 79, of Wellsville, N.Y., was burglarized sometime before Oct. 7. Unidentified individuals entered the residence by cutting the lock and then removed copper piping. Estimated cost of repair or replacement is $2,500.
Bad check charges
Robert A. Cornelius, 38, of Roulette, faces charges of bad checks after he wrote two to Roulette Township for water and sewage services. Total amount of the checks returned was $545.
Esther A. Williams, 41, of Coudersport is being charged for writing a bad check in August to Gold's General Store, Genesee, after several attempts were made to receive payment.
Multiple charges
Brett Nichols, Jr., 19, of Ulysses, will face several charges, including DUI and underage drinking, after being apprehended by state police on Sunday.
