Emporium-based state police are investigating the theft of a log skidder that was stolen from a Cameron County site and later recovered in Elk County.

Police said the 2005 skidder was stolen from the intersection of Bobby's Run Road and Rt. 4004 in Shippen Township. Valued at more than $187,000, the skidder is the property of the Northwest Savings Bank of Warren.

Copper stolen

State police from Denton Hill are investigating another copper tubing theft that occurred sometime in early October. Unknown individuals broke into Genesee Township camp owned by Martin Groff of Ocean City, Md. and removed about $500 worth of copper tubing

ATVs stolen Two ATVs belonging to Krista R. Hazel, 29, of Coudersport, were recently reported as stolen.

State police from Denton Hill said a 2005 Suzuki Quad Sport 250 and a 2005 Yamaha Raptor LE were taken from a Hebron Towhship residence between Monday night and Tuesday morning of last week. Total estimated value of the ATVs is nearly $12,000.

Tools taken

Police are probing the theft of about $665 worth of electrician tools from a truck belonging to Michael J. Dunlavey early Saturday morning. The vehicle was parked at a business on Port Allegany Road, just west of Coudersport.

Tools taken included drills, saws, electrical items and others, many engraved with the owner's initials.

Teen wrecks truck

A 15-year-old Coudersport boy is facing numerous charges after wrecking his mother's truck Tuesday afternoon on the North Hollow Road.

Police said the boy lost control of the vehicle on wet leaves. After it went off the road and rolled down an embankment, the truck struck a tree head-on. The boy suffered minor injuries and was taken to Charles Cole Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Drug case in school

A 16-year-old Northern Potter High School student was turned over to authorities after he was found in possession of drug paraphernalia while at school.

State police from Denton Hill declined to release the student's name due to his age. He was apprehended on Monday.

Emporium vandalism

State police are investigating two acts of vandalism that happened to the same car in Emporium within the span of a couple of days.

First, vandals smashed the windshield on a vehicle owned by Jacob Kamats of Emporium with a rock. Then, last Thursday night, culprits smashed the windshield with their feet and damaged the front bumper and hood on the same car.

Underage drinking

Three adults and two juveniles are being charged with underage drinking stemming from a party in Ulysses raided by state police last Sunday.

Adults facing charges include Amber L. Vetter, 19; Trisha R. Thompson, 18, and Kathryn J. Willow, 19.

Camp burglary

State police from Emporium report a camp burglary in Grove Township, Cameron County. Someone entered the camp belonging to James McGuire or Warminster, Pa., and took a lamp, shotgun shells and .22 rounds.
