Holiday shopping kickoff!

Several Coudersport area businesses are banding together for a Holiday Shopping Kickoff on Saturday, with proceeds to benefit a local charity.

Coudersport Area Chamber of Commerce Merchants Group is sponsoring the event, which will include:

• Craft/Vendor Show, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the St. Eulalia Parish Center and former Rocky's Pool Hall.

• Quilt Show, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at John White Art Gallery, East Second Street.

• Open House, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Christmas House, Main and Water streets.

• Steak Bake, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Jubilee Foods parking lot.

All proceeds will benefit the Christmas House, a volunteer organization that helps hundreds of Potter County families annually.

Several businesses will offer one-day specials for shoppers and many will have extended shopping hours.

The Merchants Group is also encouraging businesses to join in a Christmas lighting campaign. Downtown buildings will have their borders illuminated. Details will be announced.
