Emporium borough crew workers clear the streets of Emporium of their excess leaves each fall for compost. Composting is performed in a designated area near the Mid-Cameron Authority Sewage Plant on South Mountain just outside Emporium. Wood and brush collected are often made into chips that borough residents can obtain at the maintenace shed on second street free of charge. Compost is usually made available to residents in the fall. For chip and compost availability call the maintenance shed at 486-0768.
