Big turnout for Pink Ribbon run

John Sherry (middle, #269) was the overall winner in the Marian J. Wettrick 5K Classic held Saturday in Coudersport. The event raises money and awareness in the fight against breast cancer.

More than 100 runners and walkers were at the starting line for Sunday's Marian J. Wettrick Pink Ribbon 5K Walk/Run in Coudersport. The event raised money and awareness in the battle against breast cancer.

Coudersport social studies teacher John Sherry was the overall champion with a time of 19:11. Topping the women's division was Dawn Bieser (21:55).

In the walking division, winners were Julia DeLo and Michael Chambers.

As a co-sponsor of the event, Charles Cole Memorial Hospital presented a Silver Sneakers Award to hospital employees with the best completion times: Dr. Michael Haraschak and Susan Blankenship.
