New manager at Sizerville State Park Benjamin J. Stone has been named as manager of Sizerville State Park in Cameron and Potter counties. He is a native of Williamsport who has worked at several state parks. "Ben brings an enthusiasm and knowledge of the area that will benefit the park and its visitors," said DCNR Secretary Michael DiBerardinis. Stone will oversee the 386- acre park, which draws upwards of 130,000 visitors annually. "Sizerville is one of the shining stars in the Pennsylvania Wilds area, and it's an excellent assignment for me," Stone said. Sizerville State Park is nearly surrounded by Elk State Forest and adjoins the largest block of state forest land in the state. Stone succeeds long-time Sizerville manager Dana Crisp, who is now regional parks manager for the Pennsylvania Wilds Recreation Team. Stone started with the State Parks Bureau in 2002, compiling road, trail and other information for the Emporium region. He holds a bachelor's degree in outdoor recreation management from Lock Haven University. |
