Turnovers costly as Raiders' football season ends at Clarion
      It's over. Cameron County's long 2007 football season ended Saturday afternoon at the hands of the Kane Wolves, 14-6, in a game held to decide both a berth in the Elite Eight of the state playoffs and the PIAA District 9 championship.

CC girls expect improvement
      Just one starter was lost to graduation from the girls' basketball team at Cameron County High School. Dave Sullivan, former assistant coach, has been elevated to the head coach position vacated by Pat Lewis, who moved on after 25 years at the helm.

High hopes for Austin girls
      Pennsylvania's smallest school district should turn out one of the best girls' basketball teams in the region this season. Austin's Panthers open at the West Branch Tournament this weekend and return for back-to-back home games next Tuesday and Thursday against Galeton and Brockway, respectively.

      There's no rest for many of the athletes who will play prominent roles for the boys' basketball team at Cameron County.       Paul Gabor reached perfection during recent Monday Men's Merchant action at Mountain View Bowling Center. He had flirted with a perfect game a week earlier, settling for a 299, but the stars were aligned on Sunday night. His perfecto was part of a 675 set.
