Sentenced in burglary case
Teenager gets prison sentence for theft

Among the more than three dozen cases coming before Judge Richard Masson at last month's Return Day in Cameron County Court was the sentencing of an Emporium teenager who pleaded guilty to burglary and possession of marijuana.

Elijah E. Lewis, 18, will face one to two years in prison, starting in the Albion State Diagnostics and Classification Center. Lewis must also pay restitution in the amount of $12,000 to the victim, Edward Neibauer of Shippen Township.

Additionally, he must spend two years on parole and one to two months on probation after his time is served, pay court costs and lab fees, and give money to the county's substance abuse fund.

Judge Masson declared Lewis eligible for motivational boot camp program consideration.

District Attorney Tommy Tompkins called for a stiff sentence, in the hopes that Lewis would learn from his actions. Minors who were also involved in the burglary were referred to juvenile authorities.

In a separate case, Rita R. Frangiosi, Robert P. Colucci Sr. and David M. Colucci were originally scheduled to enter pleas on charges of stealing copper wire from Norfolk Southern Railroad property. However, the trio instead asked for a change in legal representation after Coudersport attorney Walter Stenhach withdrew from the case.

Pleas were not entered as they instead opted for a change in representation. Richard E. Sabin plead guilty to the theft of copper and other scrap metals from a Cameron County plant. He will be sentenced on Dec. 18.
