Lininger returns as CCSD board president Cameron County Area School Board held its reorganization on Monday. Amber Beldin, Nicholas Botera Jr. and Missy Whitcomb joined as new board members. Annetta Horning successfully ran for another four-year term. Horning will continue as the district's Intermediate Unit 9 representative. Directors re-elected Robert "Speedy" Lininger as president and Dale Lewis as vice president. Michele Rodich, Kathy Glasl and Kristine Umble are the other board members. In other business, the board announced that a $3,500 grant from the Emporium Foundation will assist the district to purchase additional materials for the Accelerated Reader program. Reserve fund money will be used to cover the remaining $3,535. Board members will decide at their Dec. 13 meeting whether or not they approve a tax limitation resolution, under Pa. Dept.of Education guidelines. Doing so would allow the current process to continue until the end of June, when the 2008-2009 budget would be adopted. Otherwise, if the resolution is not passed, a budget must be made publicly available by January. Kristen Burfield, Rita May, Kathy DeSio and Ricki Sestina were approved as student aides, at $12 per hour. |
