Ann F. Furman
JULY 9, 1922 - DECEMBER 2, 2007

Ann F. Furman, 85, of Emporium, died Sunday (Dec. 2, 2007) at in the Long Term Care Unit of Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport.

Born on July 9, 1922 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of William and Mary Farrell Nugent. In 1945 she married Richard E. Carr who died Dec. 8, 1960. In 1976 in Emporium, she married James E. Furman who preceded her in death on July 30, 2007.

Mrs. Furman attended schools in Philadelphia. She was employed for many years at GTE Sylvania in Emporium and was a long-time member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church of Austin.

She had been a volunteer at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital and was the first president of the VFW Post 7810 Auxiliary in Austin. She was also a member of the E.O. Austin Home/Historical Society.

Surviving are her daughter, Priscilla (Ron) Ebbert of Austin; step-daughters, Beatrice (Sam) Prosper of DuBois, Diane M. Furman of Naples, Fla., Cynthia J. Norman of Erie; one step-son, Earl A. (Chris) Furman of Lititz; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Thomas (Rose) Mullen of Bucks County, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated with the Reverend Joseph Czarkowski, pastor, as celebrant. Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery in Austin.
