CC wrestlers open Thurs.

Wrestling season finally opens for the Red Raiders of Cameron County on Thursday, when Bradford comes to Emporium. Coach Scott Baker's squad opted to pull out of this weekend's tournament at Warren, since several grapplers were late in arriving because of football obligations.

Cameron County will be busy next Saturday, competing in the Kane Duals, followed by a Dec. 18 home match with Oswayo Valley.

Baker is in his third year at the helm. With nine returning lettermen and many young wrestlers who are making solid progress, he is expecting a successful season.

Among those back are senior Taylor Songer (30-5, 152); juniors Mike Baker (29- 7, 160) and Randy Schatz (27- 8, 140) and sophomore Dom Manginell (26-9, 119).
