A "job fair" held last week in Emporium helped to make the link between employers looking for workers and the 5.4 percent of Cameron County's adult population seeking jobs.

More than 40 job-seekers landed on-the-spot interviews with potential employers during the daylong ses- sion sponsored by Pa. CareerLink at the Memorial Hall Recreation Center.

CareerLink's Connie Garrigan said the turnout and results exceeded expectations. She added that many of the nine companies represented were eager to fill jobs, from entrylevel laborers to skilled technicians.

One of the participating employers, AFLAC, set up a table to seek insurance representatives.

Also represented were GKN, PSM BrownCo., Racoh, Quality Compacted Metals, Micron Research Inc., Emporium Hardwoods, Emporium Pressed Metals and Emporium Secondaries.
