Cameron County notched its first girls' basketball win of the season in yet another tight game on the home floor Monday night against Brockway, 37-31.
Senior Kristin Sestina was a frontcourt force, collecting 15 rebounds and blocking seven shots. Whitney Lewis had 10 rebounds. They tied for scoring honors with eight apiece, while Shelby Summers scored seven.
Sestina recorded a doubledouble (12 points, 11 rebounds), but Cameron County (1-4) came out on the short end of a 41-40 decision to Johnsonburg on Friday. Lewis was also in double figures with 10 points and Bre Dunsmore added nine.
A struggling Galeton team comes to Cameron County on Saturday (JV at 6, varsity to follow). The Red Raiders are at Ridgway on Monday and St. Marys Public on Wednesday.
