Falcon girls (2-2) bounce back with big win

Coudersport's visit to unfamiliar girls' basketball territory - under the .500 mark - didn't last long.

Coach Brian Green's Falcons bounced back to dominate visiting Wellsboro Wednesday, 69-32, behind the hot hand of Kristy Kamper.

Kamper, a senior, poured in 31 points, including 12 on three-pointers, as Coudersport improved to 2-2. Jessica Wilson added 12 points. Kayla Bohn and Karli Duffee each dished out five assists.

A strong St. Marys Public defeated Coudersport, 72-57, in Saturday's title game of the St. Marys Invitational Tournament. Coudy was within reach at 45-41 entering the fourth quarter. Kamper (15), Wilson (12) and Duffee (11) led the scoring.

In Friday's tournament opener, Duffee scored a career-high 25 points in the Falcons' 79-34 win over DuBois Central Catholic. Duffee and Kelly McVay (13 points) each hit a trio of threepointers. Kamper had two treys and scored 14 points.

Coudersport plays at home on Friday night against DuBois High, with the junior varsity game at 6 and the varsity contest to follow. Next week, Johnsonburg comes to town on Wednesday and Troy visits on Friday.
