Falcon grapplers heading to Kane

Coudersport's wrestlers are headed for the Kane Duals on Saturday, hoping for continue progress in the young season.

Sophomore standout Dirk Cowburn leads the charge against a tough field, carrying a 6-0 record into Kane at 152 lbs. All six of his wins have come by pin.

Cowburn dropped Port Allegany's Ricky Fry in 3:04 Tuesday night in the Falcons' 70-12 loss.

Kyle Taylor also won by pin at 171.

The Falcons surrendered 36 points by forfeit. Coming out on the losing end were Touch Mongkonsawat (145), Keegan DeLung (160), Joe Ayers (189), Tony Capatch (215), Chris Symans (285) and Justin Barentine (112).

"Port's a well-coached, seasoned team with a lot of depth," coach Thad Taylor said. "I knew this would be a tough dual. Our guys will learn from this experience."

Coudersport has a home match next Tuesday against Sheffield.
