42 Jeeps, 95 people registered in QIDC

Quehanna Industrial Development Corp. members reported that its recent Jeep Dice Run was a success, with 42 vehicles and 95 people registered.

Evan Park from Snow Shoe won the high score plaque. Other winners were Tamara Baughman of Clearfield, low score; R. E. Bitner of Michigan, farthest distance; to participate in this event. Nate Ball was honored for his leadership that made this event successful.

Members heard that construction of roads and the preparation of the site for an electrical plant near Karthaus are on schedule. About 50 people are employed in this construction.

Among 2008 activities are the canoe race, May 3; One Hundred Miles of Yard Sales, July 18-19; motorcycle dice run, Aug. 2; Quehanna Rally, Aug. 11; Jeep Dice Run, Oct. 4.

QIDC also voted to discontinue the Redneck Carnival and the Flower Garden Contest.
