The weather's here! Ski Denton in central Potter County is open this weekend for skiers, snowboarders and tubers of all ages. Slopes are open Friday and Saturday from 9 to 9 and Sunday from 9 to 5. A holiday tradition, "Family Week," returns from Dec. 26 to Jan. 1. Free clinics, a Rail Jam and a New Year's Eve party are scheduled. Free clinics will be offered for children ages 4-11. Group lessons will be held at 10 am, noon, 2 pm and 5 pm. Interested kids are asked to purchase a ticket and pick up a free lesson voucher at least a half hour before the scheduled lesson. Reservations are recommended, but not required. On Dec. 26, Dec. 28 and Dec. 29, free lessons will be offered to women. At 10 am, "She Skis" clinics will be offered to women interested in learning how to ski and, at 2 pm, "She Rides" clinics will be offered for women who want to learn how to snowboard. Tickets and vouchers should be picked up a half hour ahead of time. The Dec. 28 Rail Jam allows boarders of all ages to show off their talent on the terrain park. Prizes will be awarded. Tubing will take place each day from 10 am to 4 pm. During Family Week, rates for skiing, snowboarding, tubing and sledding will be discounted. From 5 pm until 12:30 am, lifts will cost $10, ski rentals $10, snowboard rentals $15, tubing $5 and sledding $2.
