Red Raider girls heading to holiday tourny
Raiders' record stands at 3-5

Cameron County has been facing a tough non-league schedule, preparing for the start of Northern Tier Girls' Basketball League play starting Jan. 2, when Port Allegany visits Emporium.

Before that, the Red Raiders (3-5) play in the Dec. 27-28 Punxsutawney Tournament.

On Wednesday night, they went on the road to face a talented St. Marys Public team. After a close first quarter, the Raiders faded, ending on the short end of a 59-31 tally. Senior Kristin Sestina scored 13 points and had 10 rebounds for Cameron County.

Last Monday, the Red Raiders pleased the home crowd with a 34-26 win over Ridgway. Whitney Lewis scored 13 points to go with 10 rebounds. Sestina pulled down 13 rebounds and blocked five shots. Shelby Summers scored 10 points. Bree Dunsmore and Kelsey Caton each handed out seven assists.

Sestina was a force underneath in leading the Raiders to a 44-21 win over Galeton last Saturday. She had 15 rebounds, five blocks and 18 points. Summers and Bethany Dunsmore had six assists apiece.
