Emergency training Tuesday
      Potter County Dept. of Emergency Services will hold its annual quarterly meeting at 6:30 pm on Tuesday at the emergency management office in Coudersport. Fred Boylestein from Pa.       A popular Canadian band will come south for a memorable night of music on Friday, May 23, at the Coudersport High School auditorium. Potter County Fine Arts Council is bringing Enter The Haggis to town for a concert that gets underway at 7:30.

County storm water plan update coming
      An update on Potter County's far-reaching stormwater management plan will be presented Wednesday night at the courthouse during a meeting of the Stormwater Management Committee. A State College consultant was retained late last year to develop a plan the county. Herbert, Rowland & Grubic Inc.

      Members of the Potter County Democratic Committee hosted two nominees for public office at a recent meeting at the Coudersport Public Library. Mark McCracken, Democratic nominee for U.S. Congress, and Don Hilliard, the party's nominee for the State Senate, addressed committee members.

Vets' employment workshop
      A workshop will be held on Friday to help honorably discharged veterans in Potter County prepare effective resumes and pursue employment. It will be held from 1 pm to 3 pm at the CareerLink office in Coudersport. Veterans interested in attending should call Mike Fowler at 274-9330, extension 17.

Oil field accident injuries man
Potter County man doing OK
      A Potter County man is in satisfactory condition at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, N.Y., today after an oil drilling accident Wednesday afternoon. Police report that a heavy drill fell on Alan Wackwitz, 23, of Shinglehouse at a work site in Whitesville, N.Y., pinning him against some pipes.
