      A Potter County man who pleaded guilty to sexual assault charges will spend at least eight years in state prison.

      Farm fresh products are available through the Potter County Farmers Market. It's in operation every Wednesday at Collins Memorial Park in Galeton from 3 pm to 7 pm, and at the courthouse square in Coudersport each Friday from 3 to 7 and Saturday from 9 to 2.

     A 16-year-old Potter County boy was seriously injured and an Austin man is facing criminal charges following a one-vehicle crash occurring Sunday morning on Rt. 155, between Sizerville State Park and Cowley Hill Road intersection. State police from Denton Hill didn't to release the identity of the boy, who was hospitalized following the crash. Police say 35-year-old Ronald Stuckey Jr. was driving under the influence when his 1998 Ford Escort veered off the highway at about 8:30, crashed into the guardrail and burst into flames. Stuckey and a passenger, Gregory Rees, 21, also of Austin, were also injured.

Senior still soaring his Stearman
      Former Potter County resident Bob Lewis started flying in the 1940s. And now, at age 80, he's still flying a big Stearman biplane out of the Argyle Airport near his residence in Diamond Point, N.Y. "I'm lucky to be able to keep doing it," Lewis said.

Rabies clinic set for today
      Pet owners in Potter County can obtain reduced-cost rabies shots for their animals through a program offered in June and July. Penn State Cooperative Extension is teaming with a local veterinarian, Dr. Ronnie Schenkein, to provide the shots today at the courthouse square gazebo in Coudersport from 1 pm to 4 pm.

'Snowmobiles across pond' next weekend
      One of the most bizarre spectator sports Potter County has ever seen returns on Saturday, June 28, at a new site. "Fastest Snowmobile Across the Pond" competition will be held atop Denton Hill, at the Mountain Valley Motorsports pond, across Rt. 6 from Potato City County Inn.

      A Potter County business is offering a step back in time with a weekly series of "cruise nights," featuring classic cars. Each Thursday from 6-8 pm, Fezz's Diner in Sweden Valley hosts the get-together in the parking lot in the Mill Creek Plaza.

      A Galeton writer will be meeting with the public and signing copies of a local photograph book on Friday. Ron Dingle will be at the Potter County Historical Society museum in Coudersport from 3 pm to 8 pm. He has published a book containing historic post card images from Coudersport, Galeton and other Potter County settings.

More Potter County offices relocating
      Another county department is relocating to the Gunzburger Building. The Potter County Commissioners announced at this week's meeting that County Treasurer Krista Miller and staff will relocate to the former Adelphia School Building, now owned by the county, on Coudersport's North Main Street.
