Coudersport Volunteer Fire Department was summoned to the Morgan AM&T plant along Rt. 6, just east of Coudersport, Monday at about 6 pm after an impregnating oven exploded and caught fire. Firefighters were able to quell the resultant blaze in the western end of the plant and remained on the scene to protect against potential flare-ups or leaks, Just two hours earlier, volunteers were summoned to Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, just west of Morgan AM&T, when an air conditioner in the Extended Care section malfunctioned and caught fire. Pedestrian struck State police from Denton Hill refused to release the identity of a 16-year-old driver who allowed her vehicle to drift off the road in northern Potter County and strike a teenaged boy last Tuesday. A Mill Run man was not hurt in this one-vehicle crash Thursday morning on Route 155 in Keating Township. Coudersport-based state police said the wet roadway and unnsafe speed caused Daniel Burnsworth, 32, to lose control of this Ford F-250 pick up. Police said that Burnsworth failed to negotiate a turn and when he tried to correct the mistake, the vehicle spun out control and flipped onto its lid. Burnsworth, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not hurt. He will be cited for driving to fast, police said. More ... |
